Lay down card sets and add to them as you challenge partner teams in your quest to score 5,000 points. Collect a Canasta hand and claim the pile to add to your score, or stop opponents by freezing it. This game includes the official rules and 112 cards, suitable for 2 to 6 players.

Canasta is a classic rummy-style card game that requires strategic thinking and collaboration with your partner. The objective is to be the first team to reach 5,000 points by melding and adding to card sets on the table.

To begin, the 112 cards are shuffled and dealt out evenly to the players, with each player receiving 15 cards. Players are paired into teams, and partners sit across from each other. The remaining cards are placed face-down in the center of the table to form the stock pile.

On their turn, a player can draw a card from the stock pile or take the top card from the discard pile. They then must lay down a natural meld of at least three cards of the same rank (e.g., three Queens or four Aces) or a natural run of at least three cards of the same suit in sequential order (e.g., 4, 5, 6 of hearts). Once a meld is established, players can continue to add cards to it on subsequent turns.

If a player collects seven cards of the same rank, they have formed a Canasta, worth 300 points. Additional Canastas are worth 500 points each. Players can also freeze the discard pile, preventing opponents from taking from it on their turn.

The game continues with players drawing, melding, and collecting Canastas until the stock pile is depleted. At this point, the team with the highest total score wins the game.
